Since I'm on a Rescue Bots kick, I drew me a little Heatwave. He's so gwumpy!

But seriously, Heatwave is awesome. Competent leader, and despite his grumpiness, is honestly a fun and caring dude. Seems like a big brother of sorts to all the other Rescue Bots.

OPTIMUS WHY WON'T YOU RETURN HIS CALLLLLLLLLS.

Lines done with pencil, inked with my black Copic sketch pen (FOR MY BERFDAY), and colors done with Prismacolor markers, all on a 7 X 8.5 inch square of Bristol board.

I think it's hilarious that Optimus kind of snubs his calls and they don't bother giving an explanation other than the implied "Optimus is ignoring you right now. Call back when you get some weapons and can combine into a giant robot or something". XD Poor Heatwave. No wonder he's a grouch...

As messy as the style is, it's easily overlooked by the overall character it's giving. You can totally see the attitude from this piece from a mile away, with the curvy-almost-graffiti-feelin' lines adding to the mood and posture. The hero of the day award goes to the face/head model, with it being the cortex for these impact-inducing emotions. I just can't stop looking; I love all of it.

I absolutely love this guy. Steve Blum he's so awesome, and was a great choice for voicing Heatwave. I like Heatwave's personality, Mr. Grumpy pants yes but he's a pretty cool and caring guy
