I got this nagging feeling in my gut that a lot of Christian comics/media is INCREDIBLY devoid of humor.
I know I've gotten more guff about drawing this stuff than anything ELSE I've drawn.
The whole rigamarole of "you can't draw Jesus" or "if you're making funny comics you're making fun of God/Bible/Jesus/etc" or even "drawing comics/cartoons is too secular; God won't like it."
My reaction?
I draw stuff because I LOVE to draw, and I LOVE my subject matter. I wasn't blessed with the ability to draw, just to leave it unused as I sit in a church pew or hand out leaflets all day. No. I spread my love through ART, spread my love of God through ART, and communicate humor through ART.
I'm afraid too many in the Christian community are uncomfortably tight-laced, so I suppose that's why I'm here.
Do you know what humor can do to your day? Do you know how much one well-placed smile can do for you? Better yet, don't you know how good a belly laugh feels?
Laughter is a medicine friends, and can help in staving off the slings and arrows of every day life. It can change your whole outlook on the day, make you more confident, lift those weights of gloom from your shoulders, and clear your head a bit.
So, to my Christian brothers and sisters, learn to smile a few times in your lifetime. It'll make life a lot easier for those of us who aren't called to be pastors or evangelists.
Apologies for the mini-rant there, but this form of release is not one I can be quiet about. Peace out, sibs.

You're unfortunately too right... as a Christian myself I've noticed that sort of negative attitude too and I totally disagree with it. Clearly God has a sense of humor, considering he made humans like him and most of us have a sense of humor so I mean... As long as a meme or comic isn't actively ridiculing the Christian faith, I personally have no issue with it.
In any case, this comic was great lol! I don't think I'll ever hear that Bible story the same way again XD
